I have elevated kappa light chains and a problem with my immune system. My symptoms are pneumonias(in past) bronchiestisis, UTI, fatigue,joint problems,staph in head that I can not get rid of. I need surgery for sinuses but cannot get it approved because of my immune system. My insurance will not cover IVIG because they deem it not medically necessary. I have offered to pay for the IVIG as I had two treaments two years ago and did fine, however, because I have high Bence Jones proteins in urine the Doctor is concerned for my kidneys and will not order the IVIG. I went to M.D. Anderson this past August to get a 2nd opinion on the diagnosis of MGUS. They did say that they thought I had an immune disorder and that two treatments of IVIG a year would be necessary and to follow up with local HEMO/ONC. It appears that I don’t even have this-only only have increasing high elevated kappa light chains. I do not have myeloma or amyloidosis as all of the testing was done for this. I was tested for CVID two years ago but was found to have a robust reaction to the shot. My BMB only had cyto report had.06% aberant cells positive for CD38, CD138, CD117 and CD 20. All other test show no concern to be alarmed about this turning in to Myeloma as the markers were not there. Is it possible to have only this light chain produce itself without any sort of plasma cell neoplasm? So do I have light chain disease??? none amyiloid or myeloma related? Sorry to ask all of this but I see that you have study the “theory of the immune sytem clitch and Light Chains”. Would like to speak with you if possible. 337 -280-4376
