What is a Sports Hernia?

Athletic publagia is more commonly referred to as a sports hernia because it’s often seen in athletes who do a lot of bending and twisting at the waist.  But according to Michael Stuart, M.D., a Sports Medicine specialist at Mayo Clinic, a sports hernia doesn’t affect just athletes.  And, in fact, it’s not even a hernia.
